Day 15: Luke 3, 4, 5

I realize more and more, how much I can learn from just reading His word everyday.  His words are so comforting to read – it reminds me that my faith waivers.

8Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. 9The axe is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” Luke 3:8-9

These verses remind me what is truly at stake.

When I doubt my salvation and consider myself to be so unworthy, I hope to recall how Jesus responded to the Pharisees and the teachers on those considered as such.

31Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:31-32

Dear Heavenly Father: I ask that as I continue to develop this relationship with you, that my heart will be protected from all things that may attack me.  Please help me to come to you in all things of my life, the good and the bad. Please help me to trust. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
